Meet the CRDA Equine Team Members...,
 

 

The ideal CRDA horse or pony has had varied experiences such as pony club, dressage and hacking.  We lease or buy suitable horses and ponies.

Our Equestrian team members come into the program for a minimum of six weeks on trial and receive training to see if they are safe and suitable for our therapeutic riding programs.  Each horse has its own fitted saddle and a rider weight limit.  Their workload and health are monitored by a horse care committee.

CRDA uses up to 14 horses and ponies in our programs.  At present they include six ponies that have experienced pony club activities and showing, plus 2 standardbreds and a thoroughbred that have had all round experiences.

With feed, farrier and vet costs plus tack the annual cost per horse averages $2000.  Enquiries concerning horse sponsorship can be made by emailing the centre (email link in the sidebar at right).   Alternatively, download and fill out our Horse Sponsorship Form:

For donations $50 and over (Businesses $150.00) sponsors receive a certificate and photo of their chosen horse/pony and four quarterly newsletters.
